CBD Dosage Tutorial

What’s the right CBD dosage? It is a question both first-time and experienced users ask on a regular basis. Since the industry is so new, there are very few people that talk about the proper dosing of CBD. And to make matters even more confusing, the FDA has not yet released a Recommended Daily Intake (RDI) for CBD. It means that CBD does not have an official serving size.

It’s for this reason why consumers are beginning to estimate their dosages, based mostly on what various brands are saying. Even worse, friends or all sorts of people who proclaim themselves to be “experts” offer advice because they use CBD.

Several factors need to be taken into account when talking about a right dosage. These are:

  • The concentration of CBD in the supplement you are using.
  • Your weight.
  • Your body chemistry.
  • The severity of the condition that you are treating.

Of course, it means that there is no one-size-fits-all dosage and there will inevitably be some trial-and-error before you are can get yours right. So, if you are a 200lb person, you should start at around 20 to 33 MG, whereas if you are 150lb, the best dosage should be about 15 to 25 MG.

Start Small and Increase Gradually – Every person has different body chemistry. This difference can be a result of multiple factors including your age and genetics but also things that we consume every day such as food, drinks, other substances, medications, supplements, etc. As a result, what may work for someone with the same weight, may not work the same for you.

It is why it’s so important to start with a smaller dose, preferably the minimum required for your body mass, and work your way up from there. It is also recommended that you keep a log of your experiences so you can better measure how your body reacts to different doses of CBD. Increase your dose gradually, monitoring your body’s reactions until you find the right quantity that works best for your condition.

Consult Your Physician – If you are in doubt or have a pre-existing medical condition, it’s a good idea to consult your physician. Even if most doctors aren’t all that experienced with CBD (given that it’s still a relatively new development,) they are, nevertheless, the ones most capable and knowledgeable in telling you how your body reacts to CBD or how it works in combination with any other medication you may be on.

It is also important to remember that not all hemp-based products are the same. Unlike the regular hemp CBD oil or CBD isolate, water soluble, nano, full spectrum CBD has a much higher absorption rate, plus full spectrum (or whole plant) has been proven to provide more health benefits than pure CBD or isolate. Not only does this make it more efficient and provides better health results, but it also means that the dosage needs to be smaller. Since the absorption rate in these Nano Full Spectrum CBD products has an efficacy of 10:1 as opposed to regular hemp oil, you should measure your doses accordingly. But like before, start small and increase the dose gradually.
